Software Development Solutions

A software development process, also known as a software development life-cycle (SDLC), is a structure imposed on the development of a software product. Similar terms include software life cycle and software process. It is often considered a subset of systems development life cycle. There are several models for such processes, each describing approaches to a variety of tasks or activities that take place during the process. It aims to be the standard that defines all the tasks required for developing and maintaining software.

Software Development Activities

The activities of the software development process represented in the waterfall model. There are several other models to represent this process

Planning is an objective of each and every activity, where we want to discover things that belong to the project. An important task in creating a software program is extracting the requirements or requirements analysis.Customers typically have an abstract idea of what they want as an end result, but not what software should do. Skilled and experienced software engineers recognize incomplete, ambiguous, or even contradictory requirements at this point. Frequently demonstrating live code may help reduce the risk that the requirements are incorrect. Once the general requirements are gathered from the client, an analysis of the scope of the development should be determined and clearly stated. This is often called a scope document.

Certain functionality may be out of scope of the project as a function of cost or as a result of unclear requirements at the start of development. If the development is done externally, this document can be considered a legal document so that if there are ever disputes, any ambiguity of what was promised to the client can be clarified.

Implementation, testing and documenting

Implementation is the part of the process where software engineers actually program the code for the project. Software testing is an integral and important phase of the software development process. This part of the process ensures that defects are recognized as soon as possible.

Documenting the internal design of software for the purpose of future maintenance and enhancement is done throughout development. This may also include the writing of an API, be it external or internal. The software engineering process chosen by the developing team will determine how much internal documentation (if any) is necessary. Plan-driven models (e.g., Waterfall) generally produce more documentation than Agile models.

Deployment and Maintenance

Deployment starts after the code is appropriately tested, approved for release, and sold or otherwise distributed into a production environment. This may involve installation, customization (such as by setting parameters to the customer's values), testing, and possibly an extended period of evaluation. Software training and support is important, as software is only effective if it is used correctly. Maintaining and enhancing software to cope with newly discovered faults or requirements can take substantial time and effort, as missed requirements may force redesign of the software.

Security Solutions

a) CCTV Surveillance
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. It differs from broadcast television in that the signal is not openly transmitted, though it may employ point to point (P2P), point to multipoint, or mesh wireless links. Though almost all video cameras fit this definition, the term is most often applied to those used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as banks, casinos, airports, military installations, and convenience stores.

CCTV systems may operate continuously or only as required to monitor a particular event. A more advanced form of CCTV, utilizing digital video recorders (DVRs), provides recording for possibly many years, with a variety of quality and performance options and extra features (such as motion-detection and email alerts). More recently, decentralized IP-based CCTV cameras, some equipped with megapixel sensors, support recording directly to network-attached storage devices, or internal flash for completely stand-alone operation. Surveillance of the public using CCTV is particularly common in many areas around the world.

o Day & Night Dome Cameras with 420,540 TVL for crystal clear image capture. Easy to use and aesthetically highly appreciated worldwide for showrooms, jewellery shops, retail outlets etc.

o IR Illuminated IP Cameras with ability to transfer the images via IP. Remotely view and access images from any location globally. Higher image resolution: IP cameras have a resolution of at least 640x480 and can provide multi-megapixel resolution and HDTV image quality at 30 frames per second. Flexibility: IP cameras can be moved around anywhere on an IP network (including wireless).

o High Resolution outdoor and indoor cameras with changeable lens to suit varied applications and range of viewing. Wide coverage and robust design ensures high acceptability amongst Housing Societies, Shopping Malls, Hospitals, Institutions, Offices etc. Easy to use. .

• DVRs

o DVR is an integrated system which accommodates different combination of multiplexers, quads, video recorders and alarm controllers. This system represents a great step forwards beyond any of conventional analogue surveillance systems. The system not only performs monitoring, motion detection, alarm control and different electric/electronic devices control at the same time, but also stores images from camera into hard disk for playback later. Through networking it can be easily accessible from any where and at any time. Further, the system employs an easy-to-use interface which maximize the efficiency of the surveillance.

o Speed Dome Cameras can move side to side (pan), up and down (tilt), and zoom in and out (zoom). PTZ cameras are controlled either by a remote control, joystick, or computer software.

b) Biometric Time Attendance Solutions

A biometric time attendance system is a biometric time clock that tracks employee attendance, including when they clock in, when they clock out, and if they showed up when they were scheduled to work.
What makes a biometric time clock one of the best time and attendance systems is that it has a biometric fingerprint scanner built in that is much more accurate in time keeping that a time card or time sheets because employees can't clock in other employees. This helps prevent time theft and saves money for the company.

Another great feature of biometric attendance systems is that they could also be used as biometric access control for the building's security. Companies can restrict access to certain areas of the building so only certain employees can enter by only approving their fingerprints in the access system.

c) EAS Gate System

Let's imagine that you own a large department store and have a big problem with shoplifting for the moment. You cannot let it continue, because your accounting system tells you that you are losing thousands of ruppes by the thieves every month. Then, it forces you to raise your prices of goods, which means you have to charge more than your competitors. So you will loss competitiveness, especially the competitors are successful in anti-shoplifting. What will you do?

Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS)is considered as the most successful, effective and scalable anti-shoplifting system now. After putting an EAS system into practice, retailers are able to expect an estimated 60-80% decrease in external theft. Instead of hidding the item behind locked doors, it is easier for the consumers to review the product by placing an EAS tag on each item. Therefore, EAS systems help retailers to increase their sales and protect their profits by increasing open selling opportunities while reducing shoplifting.

How does EAS work?Regardless of the manufacturer or the specific type of technology used, EAS systems operate from a simple principle: a TX sends a signal at a defined frequency to an RX, and it will create a surveillance area at the checkout aisle or exits in retail stores. At first, attaching labels or hard tags to the goods. When any goods is purchased, the label will be deactivated or the hard tag will be detached at the point of sale. However, the pedestals will alarm if the goods pass the pedestals with an active label or hard tag, which will remind shop assistants that there is a shoplifting happening.

Three components of an EAS system

• RF Detectors or RF Smart Sensors creates a surveillance zone at the exits or checkout aisles

• Active Labels or hard tags are attached to goods that will induce an alarm when pass the pedestals if any customer tries to leave the store without paying for the goods.

• Deactivators and detachers are used to deactivate labels and detach reusable hard tags at the point of sale when goods are purchased
